After the female dog is sure to give birth, she must first prepare the delivery room. The location of the delivery room should be a quiet place. Large dogs can be kept in the kennel, and small dogs can be placed in the kennel indoors or use appropriate self-made production boxes. The delivery room should have a delivery bed and cold protection facilities should be provided in cold seasons.

Before giving birth, a straw mat or a clean cloth can be placed on the delivery bed, and then the female dog's body surface, especially the buttocks and breasts can be scrubbed with 0.5% Lessour solution or 2% boric acid solution. Prepare midwifery equipment and required items, such as towels, scissors, ligation wire, iodine tincture, cotton or gauze, induced delivery medicine, syringe, insulation box, etc. At the same time, you should also prepare milk powder, eggs, clean drinking water, etc. to restore the female dog's physical strength.

One month before delivery, the female dog's nipples can be washed once every few days with warm water and soap, and then dried to prevent nipple trauma infection. The hair around the nipples of long-haired dogs should be cut off before giving birth.

Female dogs generally do not require special care and are often carried out naturally. However, some female dogs have poor motherhood or have too many babysitting and weak constitution; or the female dog cannot bite the umbilical cord or dysparticle and other abnormal delivery, if measures are not taken in time, the mortality rate of the newborn fetus is very high. In order to avoid accidents and reduce deaths, the female dog should start on duty before giving birth.

In delivery care, the most important thing is to tear the fetal membranes out of the delivery in time. During childbirth, a newborn fetus or stillbirth often occurs. At this time, the dog mainly performs artificial respiration on the newborn puppy in a fake death state. First, let the female dog lick the mucus that has been removed from the fetus or manually wipe it off, and promptly press the fetus' chest and body to move its whole body to encourage the newborn fetus to make a scream and start breathing.

When a female dog does not lick the newborn fetus, the dog mainly uses a cotton ball to wipe off the oral and nose mucus of the newborn fetus, and scrub the whole body of the newborn fetus, so that the limbs will appear red and scream. Then wipe the fetus with a dry towel and let the fetus feed.
