We all know that urethritis in male cats is a relatively difficult thing. Generally speaking, the symptoms of urethritis in male cats are mainly frequent urination, redness and swelling around the urethral opening, difficulty urinating, turbid urine, absent urine, frequent licking of the urethral opening, irregular urination outside the sandbasin, etc. That is, if a male cat has the above symptoms, it is recommended to take the pet to conduct relevant examinations in time, such as routine urine tests, urine culture, drug sensitivity experiments, and then select appropriate drugs for treatment based on the results of the examination.

1. Early symptoms

In the early stage of male cats, they usually experience frequent urination, irritability, and frequent defecation in the litter box. If you find that cats frequently enter and exit the litter box, it is likely that they have urethritis and must be taken seriously.

2. Medium-term symptoms

In the middle stage, the mental and appetite of cats will also be affected, and they will experience symptoms of loss of energy, decreased appetite, and urination everywhere. At the same time, due to the pain, the cat will howl painfully when urinating and frequently lick the urethra.

3. Later symptoms

In the later stage of urethritis, cats will also experience systemic symptoms such as vomiting and body temperature rise. This also shows that cats have a very serious urethritis, which causes urinary cessation and is unable to discharge urine normally for a long time. Toxins accumulate in the body, causing nephrotoxicity, resulting in systemic symptoms such as vomiting and rising body temperature. If this stage has reached, it is recommended that the owner take the cat to the pet hospital for examination and treatment immediately to avoid delaying the condition and increasing the cat's pain.
