The Sun reported that Manchester United coach Amorim was spotted on the sidelines of the Manchester Youth Premier League over the weekend. He watched many games including the home team of Manchester City star Foden, and took photos with young players and parents.
A source joked that Amorim might be trying to "steal" the next Foden for Manchester United. However, it is believed the main reason for his attendance is that his son plays in the league and it is not his first appearance, having made several previous appearances, including at the final in May.
This youth league has attracted many football celebrities in recent years. Manchester City's Stones and Ederson, Liverpool's Joe Gomez and Everton's Pickford have all visited. What's more, Premier League referee Simon Hopper once wore full equipment to officiate an U7 game, and Bournemouth coach Elora even served as a linesman in a women's grassroots game.
