History shows that although Arsenal narrowed to two points with the lead Liverpool after winning Newcastle, they still face a difficult task to win the Premier League title.

OPTA statistics show that in the history of the Premier League, only two of the 36 teams who scored 13 points in the first six rounds eventually became champions, namely Manchester United in the 2006-07 season and Manchester City in the 2021-22 season.

However, this is not a big news for Liverpool fans. Previously, there were 12 teams that reached 15 points after six rounds, but in the end only two of them won the championship, namely Liverpool last season and Manchester United in 1995-96.

In fact, Arsenal has more points in the past three seasons than this season, but ended up second in the end. For Arsenal fans looking for good signs, the only time the Gunners have won the runner-up three times in a row was from the 1998-99 season to the 2000-01 season, and the following season, they won the league championship.
