This Sunday, Manchester City will face Manchester United at home, and Rooney shared these memories with former Manchester City winger Wright Phillips in the latest BBC podcast "The Rooney Show".

In October 2011, Manchester City defeated Manchester United 6-1 at Old Trafford, a game that became one of the classic battles in the Manchester City derby. Rooney said: "I think that game was a big moment for Manchester City at the time because they were rising and getting closer to us, and they won 6-1 at Old Trafford was undoubtedly a statement. I felt really bad on the court, and the second half was like a string of goals, and I just wanted to say 'Let me get out of this stadium'."

"Usually in this case, I would go straight home. But that day I had a birthday party, Joe Hart, Barry and it Some of his Manchester City players were invited. Family and friends had arranged time to attend, and I couldn't cancel, so I went there anyway. There were Manchester United teammates and Manchester City players. I remember I sang a backstreet boy song with Crouch and Hart. Looking back, I should have cancelled the party, but those friends and family had already asked for leave and found a nanny. "

A few months before this crushing defeat, Rooney scored an iconic goal in the derby. In February 2011, he helped Manchester United win 2-1 with a barb shot at the end of the game, a goal that was named the Premier League's 20-season best goal in 2012.

Rooney said: "I performed badly in that game, one of the worst games I played. I couldn't even control the ball. That goal became a classic because it was scored in the derby and helped us win the game, but we didn't usually practice barb shots."

Rooney's favorite derby memory was in 2007, when Manchester United beat Manchester City 1-0 with Ronaldo's penalty and almost locked in the league: "The next day we won the league. That was my first Premier League title. We knew that if we win that game, we could win the championship."

Wright Phillips' father Ian Wright is a legendary Arsenal star. When talking about his father and daughter, he "Many people see you and expect you to be as good as him or play the same position. I was criticized a lot during my growth, and now my daughter has encountered a similar situation. She was booed by her parents at the age of 11. I always tell her to just play her own ball and respond to all doubts with practical actions."

Rooney's son played in the Premier League for Manchester United's U18 team this season, although he was only 15 years old. Rooney said: "They are under more pressure. My son is on the same team as Ronaldo's son and Carrick's son. When you go to the game, you will see the number of people on the sidelines increased tenfold, and everyone is paying attention to these three children, and they have to be prepared."
