According to British media talksport, Isaac firmly demanded to leave Newcastle, but there is no new progress in negotiations between Newcastle and Liverpool.
Isaac has become the focus of the transfer market this summer. Isaac has been absent from Newcastle's game since Liverpool's £110 million offer was rejected. Currently, he is training alone away from Eddie Howe's first team and seems to be unintentional to reintegrate.
According to talkSPORT, 25-year-old Isaac is determined to join Liverpool. Even if he cannot complete the transfer this summer, he refuses to play for Newcastle again. However, negotiations on transfers to Anfield have not made any progress and the Premier League champion has not yet made a new offer.
talkSPORT's transfer reporter Ben Jacobs said that the transfer turmoil in Isaac is far from over and Liverpool is still paying close attention to the developments. He said: "The relationship between Newcastle and Isaac is very tense. From the perspective of Liverpool, they are just watching from a distance. At present, there is relatively silence between Liverpool and Newcastle."
"Liverpool has not given up, and Isaac is their top goal. If possible, they will go all out to sign him before the transfer window is closed. But they do not want to make a formal offer again after the £110 million offer is rejected unless encouraged."
Although Newcastle is considered to be asking for £150 million, Jacobs insists that the two sides have never officially confirmed the price. Liverpool is willing to break the UK transfer fee record, but it is below this huge number.
Jacobs continued: "So, what is 'encouragement'? Some people think the offer needs to be higher. But as I know, Liverpool and Newcastle never acknowledged the so-called £150 million asking price, and I think Liverpool will try to sign Isaac at a price below this price but still set a record in the UK transfer fee."
Newcastle's attitude towards Isaac may change due to the arrival of new players, including Brentford striker Visa. Visa's transfer will accelerate this weekend as the Bees agrees to sell Ouatara to Bournemouth for £42.5 million. Visa has been training alone and pushing for the transfer, with Newcastle’s two offers being rejected, including a quote with an initial £30m plus a £5m surcharge.
Jacobs explained: "Some people think that finding a replacement would be an encouragement. Visa's arrival may be a positive factor. Others believe that Isaac himself is pushing for the transfer and is very determined. There is a similar situation in Newcastle, who has been pushing for Brentford in the past few weeks and finally got what he wants."
If Isaac transfers to Liverpool, Newcastle hopes to avoid reuniting with him immediately. Both teams will play Premier League matches at St James Park on August 25, and if Isaac wears a Liverpool jersey and appears on the road, he may be treated extremely hostile.
Jacobs said: "Newcastle doesn't want Isaac to make a transfer in the next few hours or days and make his debut in a Liverpool jersey at St. James Park, which is almost unimaginable."
But he added: "This does not mean that negotiations will not happen, especially with Visa expected to join Newcastle. It cannot be ruled out that the possibility of giving encouragement in the next few days. But it is certain that neither club want that game to become a farce."
